Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractic is used most often to treat musculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, joint pain, and headaches. The most common therapeutic procedure performed is a “Chiropractic Adjustment”, also called a “Spinal Manipulation”. The purpose of an Adjustment is to restore joint mobility by applying a control force into joints that have become hypo-mobile or restricted in their movement as a result of a tissue injury. We also use other types of modalities such as Electric Muscle Stimulation (EMS), Ultrasound, Neuromuscular Re-Education, Traction, Stretching, and Therapeutic Exercises to aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of spine and joint injuries.
Benefits of Chiropractic
The Chiropractic approach to healthcare is holistic, stressing the patient’s overall well being. It recognizes that many factors affect health, including exercise, diet, rest, environment, and heredity. Chiropractic focuses on maintaining optimal health naturally so that the body is better able to resist disease, rather than simply treating the symptoms of disease. Chiropractors use natural, drugless, non-surgical healthcare and rely on the body’s inherent recuperative abilities.
